Cattle movement from Karachi to Balochistan banned

KARACHI: Sindh government has banned the movement of cattle from Karachi to Balochistan under section 144, to ensure sale of meat in accordance with the price list.

According to a statement issued on Saturday, the Sindh Home Department has also issued notification pertaining to ban imposed on the movement of cattle.

It said a delegation of Cattle Meat Merchant Association led by its President Sheikh Kamran Akram Qureshi had called on the Commissioner Karachi and expressed their reservations with regard to smuggling of cattle from Karachi to Balochistan.

The delegation had informed the Commissioner Karachi that the smuggling of cattle would create shortage of the cattle and they would not be able to sell meat in accordance with price list, the statement said.

Consequently, Roshan Ali Sheikh advised the Sindh Government to ban the smuggling of cattle from Sindh.

The Commissioner Karachi has called upon all meat merchants to ensure sale of meat in accordance with the prices specified in the price list.
